Marine Hose Service – Jerryborg Marine

Jerryborg Marine provides complete onshore and offshore support, including floating hose inspection, maintenance, and safe storage, all carried out in line with OCIMF guidelines.

Marine hoses are often subjected to heavy use during loading and unloading operations, requiring regular maintenance and management. Proper service and maintenance not only keep the hoses in working order but also minimize downtime.

Our services include:

1. Ensuring the entire hose remains in proper working order during oil unloading and transfer.

2. Defining the service life and replacement schedule for different hose types.

3. Optimizing the frequency and method of offshore operations (such as hose towing, disconnection, and diving for repairs) and shore-based work (such as inspection and repairs).

4. Pre-planning hose replacements to avoid unexpected downtime.

5. Establishing and managing a shore-based spare parts inventory to minimize waiting and downtime.

6. Promptly resolving any issues that arise to minimize operational and environmental impact.

Our marine hose services strictly adhere to OCIMF (International Oil Companies Marine Forum) specifications. These cover on-site hose handling, storage, inspection, and testing.

Jerryborg Marine Hose Inspection and Testing Services

Hoses can be affected by wear and tear during operation. If not regularly inspected, they may malfunction during operation. Testing and inspection can identify potential problems early, prevent accidents, and extend the hose’s service life.

Jerryborg Marine’s inspection services are performed by qualified technicians. All procedures strictly adhere to the OCIMF Hose Handling, Storage, Inspection, and Testing Guidelines and reference the manufacturer’s technical specifications. Upon completion of the inspection, we will issue the corresponding certificate of conformity to our customers.

Main Inspection Items:

  • Dimension and Weight Comparison: When carcass damage is suspected, the hose is weighed and its dimensions are verified and compared to the data on the initial OCIMF certificate.
  • Electrical Continuity: In accordance with OCIMF requirements, tail hoses and tanker rail hoses are inspected for electrical discontinuities.
  • Hydrostatic Pressure Testing: Comparing the hose’s elongation to the initial data verifies structural integrity.
  • Vacuum Testing: Confirms the rubber lining for delamination.
  • Appearance inspection: Observe the inside and outside of the hose for cracks, cuts, bulges, wear, or corrosion.

Jerryborg Marine Hose Maintenance Service

Jerryborg Marine provides maintenance and technical support for marine hoses in accordance with OCIMF standards.

Regular maintenance in accordance with manufacturer requirements, OCIMF specifications, and relevant regulations can effectively reduce the risk of hose damage and extend its service life.

Key points of our maintenance and repair services:

  • Regular maintenance: Ensure hoses are always in working condition through inspection and testing.
  • Repair service: If the hose has only surface damage (e.g., the steel frame is intact), the outer layer can be repaired. If the feasibility of the repair is in doubt, we will
  • Application requirements: Repairs must be performed in a dry, dust-free environment. Any surface oil or residue must be thoroughly cleaned before handling, using trichloroethylene to ensure a grease-free finish.
  • Factors affecting hose lifespan: The service life of a hose is affected by its installation location, operating methods, and on-site environment (climate, water flow, storage conditions, etc.). Proper maintenance is key to extending its service life.

Jerryborg Marine Hose Storage Solutions

Jerryborg Marine Hose Storage Solutions

Jerryborg Marine offers storage solutions that comply with OCIMF standards and manufacturer requirements.

According to OCIMF guidelines, hoses should be stored on steel pallets, out of direct sunlight, and kept as dry as possible. If enclosed storage is not possible, the hoses should be covered.

Our steel pallets can stack hoses up to a height of approximately 3 meters. This not only reduces the storage footprint but also prevents the hoses from being crushed and deformed when stacked on the ground. Storing the hoses on pallets also makes it easier to label and inspect the hoses. Furthermore, storing the hoses off the ground reduces damage from rodents and insects.

Jerryborg Marine also offers specialized steel storage racks that provide UV protection in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and provide standardized storage conditions for unloading line accessories (such as bolts, nuts, floats, chains, spools, etc.), ensuring they remain in good condition.
