Marine Mooring Chain – Jerryborg Marine
Jerryborg Marine offers mooring chains in various sizes. Our mooring chains can have a maximum diameter of up to 162 mm. Our mooring chains can be used in a wide range of systems, such as FPSO, FSO, and FLNG, among others.
In single point mooring systems (such as CALM buoy systems), a single buoy typically handles the vessel mooring function, connected to the seabed by multiple mooring chains and anchors. The size and grade requirements of the mooring chains vary depending on project conditions. To meet these needs, Jerryborg Marine offers a variety of marine engineering-grade mooring chains with specifications to satisfy the design and operational requirements of different facilities.
Conventional buoy mooring systems are usually made up of several mooring buoys. Each buoy is connected to the seabed by a catenary chain and held in place by anchors. In some cases, sinkers or piles are used, depending on the site conditions. For this type of system, Jerryborg Marine offers mooring chains suitable for a wide range of operating environments.
Floating production and storage units such as FPSO, FSO, and FLNG use different mooring arrangements based on project requirements and water depth. These may include spread mooring systems, fixed or flexible connections to CALM buoys, or internal turret mooring systems. For these applications, Jerryborg Marine supplies both stud link and studless chains in offshore grades, including R3, R3S, R4, R4S, and R5, with sizes up to 162 mm.
All mooring chains supplied by Jerryborg Marine are produced under a quality management system in line with ISO 9001:2015. The products are type-approved by major classification societies. Mooring chains used for FPSO and FSO projects also comply with the latest OCIMF guidelines and relevant class requirements.
