Anchor Chain Accessories – Jerryborg Marine
Kenter Shackle
Kenter Shackles are typically used in the middle of anchor chains to join two chain segments together. A practical need in this area is that the same chain segment isn’t always used; sometimes sections need to be replaced. The structure is detachable, with locking blocks and pins in the middle, allowing individual segments to be removed on-site without handling the entire chain.
Jerryborg Marine’s Kenter Shackles are custom-sized according to the chain diameter. The connection is made to fit snugly, with no noticeable gaps during installation. Key components are pre-installed at the factory, requiring only follow-up steps for on-site installation.

Anchor Shackle
Anchor Shackles are primarily used between the anchor and the anchor chain, where the force is directly applied. Compared to ordinary connectors, they are thicker and have larger pins, mainly to withstand repeated stress. Once installed, customers typically do not need to disassemble it frequently.
Jerryborg Marine manufactures these shackles by pre-matching the pin and the body. All dimensions are strictly set according to the specifications of anchor chains, thus eliminating the tedious process of additional adjustments during on-site assembly. Surface treatment is also completed at the same time, making them suitable for direct deployment in water.

Grillo di giunzione
Joining Shackles are commonly used for chain extension or partial replacement. For example, if a section of the chain is worn and only that section needs replacing, a connector is needed to join the old and new chain. The structure is relatively simple; installation involves aligning the links.
Jerryborg Marine’s Joining Shackles are made to fit the actual chain size. The opening position corresponds to the link size, eliminating the need for grinding or resizing during assembly. They are typically supplied as a complete set.

Girevole
A swivel is a component used to allow the chain to rotate under stress. Anchor chains are easily twisted in water due to currents or the movement of the boat. If this twisting accumulates, the chain can become tangled and tight. Adding a swivel releases this torsion.
Jerryborg Marine’s swivels have a specially designed fit at the rotating part. The rotation is neither too tight nor too loose. They are typically placed in the middle of the chain or near the connection point for easy use.

Anchor Swivel Shackle (A)
The Anchor Swivel Shackle (A) is used between the anchor and the anchor chain. This section varies considerably in actual use. As the boat moves, the chain direction adjusts accordingly. Without a rotating mechanism, it will tighten over time. Combining the rotating mechanism with the connection allows this section to adjust in the direction of the force, preventing torque accumulation.
Jerryborg Marine treats the rotating position separately when making these components. The internal and external fits are not fixed; some room for movement is allowed, allowing for natural rotation under load. The connection dimensions are determined in conjunction with the chain to prevent uneven tightness.

Anchor Swivel Shackle (B)
The Anchor Swivel Shackle (B) also features a rotation function and is used similarly to the Type A. There are some structural variations, such as slightly different connection positions and stress distribution, typically chosen based on project requirements.
Jerryborg Marine’s Type B is sized according to the intended use. The connection and swivel components are machined together and undergo simple factory pre-assembly, allowing for direct on-site use.

Round Link
The round link is the basic unit of the anchor chain; each link has a circular structure. The links do not require additional connecting parts; instead, they are interconnected by interlocking links. Under stress, the load will be evenly distributed across the entire chain, rather than concentrated at a single point.
Jerryborg Marine’s round links are manufactured to standard chain diameters. Each link is the same size, ensuring no significant deviation when the entire chain is connected. The surface is also treated, making them suitable for long-term use in water.

Swivel Piece
The swivel piece is generally not used alone; it’s part of a swivel assembly. It needs to be used with other connectors to form a complete rotating structure. It’s primarily used in locations where torsion needs to be released.
Jerryborg Marine provides these parts as part of a complete assembly. They don’t provide individual parts, but rather offer all necessary components together based on the intended use.

Forelock Shackle
Forelock Shackles are shackles with a locking mechanism. After installation, they are secured with pins to prevent loosening during use. They are generally used in locations where frequent disassembly is not required, and they are not easily loosened even after prolonged use.
Jerryborg Marine’s Forelock Shackles include a locking mechanism. The pins and the main body are matched, so there’s no need to find other accessories during installation; simply secure it.

Enlarged Link
An enlarged link is a larger section than a standard chain link. It’s typically used in connection points, such as with shackles or swivels. The larger opening makes assembly easier.
Jerryborg Marine’s enlarged links are made to the dimensions of the matching parts. They aren’t enlarged individually; rather, they’re considered in conjunction with the connectors, resulting in smoother assembly.

End Link
End Link is usually used at the very end of the chain and is not included in every set. This section is only added separately when other components need to be connected at the end. When used on-site, this section is mainly used to leave the final connection position open, so that shackles or other connecting parts can be connected later.
Jerryborg Marine’s End Link is supplied with the entire chain; it’s not made as a separate, fixed-size product. Different projects use different connectors, and this section will be adjusted accordingly. Once it’s made, it fits perfectly with the front and rear components, so there’s no need to change the dimensions.

Triangles
Triangles are triangular connectors used where multiple points of connection are needed. For example, when several chains come together, they can distribute the force instead of concentrating it at a single point.
Jerryborg Marine’s Triangles are sized according to their intended use. The three openings are symmetrical, making it easier to align chains in different directions.
