PVC solid flotation boom description

Solid float type PVC oil boom is an economic general-purpose oil boom, especially suitable for the interception and control of oil spills and other floating materials in near-shore calm waters. It can be used for emergency stockpiling, hazard prevention exercises, and clean-up operations to intercept and deploy. It has been widely used in inland pollutant discharge, water source intake, rivers, harbors, lakes and offshore oil rigs.

Benefits of Jerryborg Solid Float PVC Boom

1. Bright colour, beautiful, oil resistance, sun resistance, large buoyancy reserve, strong oil retention performance.

2. The main use of PVC double-sided layer of high-strength tarpaulin. The upper, middle and lower parts of the rail have tension ropes, reinforcing bands and tension weight chains as longitudinal stress components, and the rail has high tensile performance. Smooth appearance, good for oil conduction, easy to clean.

3. There are different shapes of floats to choose from: teardrop shaped (non-inverted) is more stable in fast currents; cylindrical shape has a larger buoyancy reserve and better wave ride; block-shaped floats have a small storage volume and can be deployed more quickly and labour-saving in conjunction with the reeling machine.

4. One section every 20 meters, easy to connect between sections.

Application of PVC solid flotation boom

Marine Oil Spill Containment: Solid float oil booms are primarily used in marine environments to contain oil spills. These booms are deployed in oceans, seas, and coastal areas to prevent the spread of oil, thereby protecting marine life and coastal ecosystems.

River and Lake Protection: These booms are also used in rivers and lakes to contain oil spills. In freshwater environments, solid float oil booms help prevent the spread of oil downstream, safeguarding water quality and aquatic life.

Harbor and Port Safety: In harbors and ports, solid float oil booms are used to manage and contain oil spills resulting from ship operations, refueling, and maintenance.

Emergency Response and Cleanup: During oil spill emergencies, solid float oil booms are rapidly deployed as part of the initial containment and cleanup response. They are a first line of defense, used to encircle and contain oil spills until more permanent cleanup measures can be implemented.
