The disc skimmer is a lightweight, efficient device for recovering oil spills on the water surface. It consists of an oil skimmer that floats on the water’s surface, a power station placed on the shore or a boat, and a pipeline connecting the two. It has been widely used in pools, harbors, wharves, river oil spill recovery, and industrial oily wastewater treatment.
The disc skimmer is a mechanical surface oil recovery device. It employs vertically arranged, partially submerged rotating discs to adhere oil from the water surface. The adhered oil is then scraped off by blades installed above the discs and directed into a collection tank.
